Corporate & Social Responsibility

Sustainability at the heart

As the world faces new environmental challenges, here at Rada we are constantly developing innovative ways to save water and conserve energy.

We know that our customers in the commercial and public sectors care deeply about the environment and need to meet increasingly demanding sustainability targets.

Conserving water and minimising energy consumption is intrinsic to our products such as thermostatic controls, and constant innovation drives increasing efficiency.

Corporate Social Responsibility

As part of the global Kohler Mira, recognising our impact on both our local and global communities is woven into our business.

We have been practicing stewardship in various ways, but in the last few years we’ve adopted the four Stewardship Pillars: Community, Workplace, Arts and Sustainability. Read about each of the pillars and some of the achievements of the associates involved. “Kohler Company’s Stewardship program is about taking action, building connections and making an impact” Laura Kohler, Sr. Vice President, Human Resources.

Community

Our associates support their local community and charitable organisations through raising money, volunteering and being actively engaged. Associates choose a charity to support annually. In 2014, through large fundraising events, sporting challenges and smaller events like cake sales and raffles we raised £53,000 for CLIC Sargent the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people. As an associate you are entitled to one paid day a year to volunteer for a charity or organisation of your choice

Workplace

People are at the heart of everything we do and the wellbeing and career development of our associates is something we take very seriously. We aim to create an environment where associates can thrive, connect and enjoy a long, safe and fulfilling career. At Kohler Mira you can expect the full support of your manager and colleagues as you seek opportunities to train, grow and realise your potential.

Arts

We believe that art has the power to enhance lives and our goal is to build strong links with our community through the establishment and support of art projects. To date, this has included the sponsorship of the Cheltenham Arts Festival and a project to enhance the environment at Sam’s House in Bristol – a purpose built home for children undergoing cancer treatment and their families. A team of associates spent two days painting water themed murals with a local artist.

Environment

We began our official journey toward sustainability in 2008 when we set our goal to reduce our carbon footprint and solid waste by 3% annually, achieving Net Zero with offsets by 2035. The strategy we’ve put into place to reach that goal combines footprint reduction, product innovation and education. And we’re pleased to report that we’ve made steady, strides toward our goal.
