Supporting healthcare and care home workers amid COVID-19 is critical
By Katy Rogers, Commercial Business Director
As I write this at home rather than in the office, there’s no denying that the last few months have had significant impacts on every aspect of our daily lives.
But while the way we live and socialise has changed, we’ve all found new ways of doing things so we can continue to keep in contact with people, get the things we need and do our work.
We’ve done exactly that here at Rada so we can continue to support healthcare professionals on the frontline who are seeing first-hand the devastating effects of the COVID-19 emergency.
We’re part of the response to COVID-19, working alongside the NHS, care home providers and its key partners to support its vital work to help keep people safe. We know the sector and understand the challenges the current crisis presents and, importantly, have the expertise and washroom products to support the relief effort.
Our team is working incredibly hard to support critical care facilities and to meet the immediate demand. Our manufacturing line has and will remain open during this unprecedented period to ensure we can continue this support. We’re working around the clock to get our specialist healthcare taps and showers to where they’re needed most, with some orders being manufactured and delivered in just 24 hours.
Our work has seen our healthcare products specified and installed in the Nightingale Hospitals – the NHS’s critical care temporary hospitals across the UK. We were able to answer the call for suppliers to help because we could respond to deadlines and deliver the right products quickly. Our leading clinical mixer tap Safetherm was specified because it helps improve bacterial control and user safety.
The challenges COVID-19 brings are constantly evolving and the healthcare sector has been, and must continue to be, responsive. We’re working with hospitals to ensure their facilities can adapt to manage the impacts of the virus. This includes working with them to ensure stringent infection control measures are in place at key access points such as additional handwashing stations at entrances. We’ve also been helping facilities rapidly set up new COVID-19 wards and areas.
The effort and teamwork we’re seeing to support healthcare and care staff has been phenomenal, and we’re so proud to be paying our part.
But now is not the time to let up. Even as the government eases lockdown measures, the pressures and risks to frontline staff and their patients remain.
For us, this means ensuring those on the frontline continue to have easy access to modern taps and showers that are designed to meet the demands of infection control and user safety, and that also encourage the handwashing that’s so important to fighting COVID-19.
Staff need their critical partners now more than ever to help them deliver the very best care, and we’ll continue to be here to support them.
We can meet tight deadlines for service and product, ensuring healthcare professionals have access to washroom products now that can keep people safe.
If you have any questions about how modern water controls can help you improve care, encourage handwashing and deliver efficient facilities, please contact us and we’ll support you.
